Donald Trump’s NFT Trading Cards Sell Out In Under 24 Hours
In our last newsletter, we announced that Former President Donald Trump had announced his NFT collection - Trump Cards. Who would have thought that the controversial NFT collection would sell out within 24 hours and not only that but reach over $4.5 MILLION in sales volume?
Yep. $4.5 million, in a bear market no less. After announcing the project on Wednesday, The news of the project spread like wildfire, all the excitement led to the project selling out within 24 hours of its launch. The cards depict Donald Trump in various guises. Some of these include superhero, wrestler, race-car driver, astronaut, and also football player.
We are not joking. Trump as an astronaut now exists on-chain. I certainly did not have that on my 2022 NFT bingo card.
The floor price of this project is 0.31 ETH with over 15,000 owners of the project.
However, it wouldn't be Trump without some controversy. There are already allegations spreading that the collection's artwork uses stock photos, with some twitter users claiming that there are partial watermark images left on certain NFTs.
Grab your popcorn, sit back, and watch the rest of this drama unfold.
This project is either a massively successful statement or the biggest troll project ever.
13+ Bored Apes Stolen As Yet Another BAYC Scam Rattles The Industry
Another day, another scam. This year has been no kinder to Bored Ape owners, and the latest BAYC scam is yet another shocker for the industry.
14 Ape NFTs have fallen victim to a “gasless transaction” scam, including one NFT that has already been sold off. The total value of the NFTs range over $1 million.
$1 million gone, just before Christmas. That has to hurt.
On December 17th, industry builder @CirrusNFT exposed an over 1200 ETH scam on Twitter. NFT collector @_sevenseason_ saw all 14 of his prized Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs instantly stolen! Therefore, the total value of this Bored Ape scam is north of $1 million.
The NFT trader thought they were signing a gasless transaction for a licensing deal with web3 social IP platform ‘The Unemployed’. This scam was a result of a combination of two things. One - loopholes in OpenSea contracts, and two - social engineering.
The message: TRUST NO-ONE
This is not a new scam. It first appeared in February 2022, claiming a lot of high-profile targets and assets. It starts with a phishing link, getting users to connect their wallets to a “trustworthy” website. The hard part for scammers is getting someone to trust them.
I will say it again for the people in the back - never trust anyone and don't connect your wallet to any unverified, unknown links.
At the moment, NFT Twitter is sending love and support to @_sevenseasons_, and are also trying to find ways to recover the lost BAYC digital collectibles.
Cover your ass(ets) and stay safe from scams, frens!
