9gag Seeks to Trademark the Word PFP!

In a move that shocked us all, 9GAG has announced plans to take over the web3 universe by filing patents for various digital tokens and NFTs. The company's trademark covers everything from virtual environments and digital arts to crypto-collectibles and digital currencies.

One of the trademarks even includes the word "PFP," which stands for "Profile Picture" projects in the NFTverse. So, if you're a fan of Moonbirds or any other avatar-based project, you might be using 9GAG's patented technology without even knowing it.

But that's not all. 9GAG is also developing downloadable software that allows for the creation and distribution of digital tokens. These "fan tokens" will be used to prove loyalty to a particular fandom or community, because nothing says "I'm a true fan" like holding a digital token.

And if that wasn't enough, 9GAG is also patenting an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of goods and services, including virtual goods and NFTs authenticated by NFTs. Could this mean a "9GAG Wallet" is on the horizon?

It will be interesting to see whether these trademarks actually go through, and if so, how that will change the way we use the term PFP.

She graduated from the School of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 2009. She paints with acrylic and oil on canvas, and also masters the creation of silver talismans, with a careful combination of crystals and gemstones.

Mia gathers her inspiration from Celtic mythology, tradition and folklore, specifically Sidhe Lore and Creideamh Sí. She gathers both knowledge and inspiration from books, manuscripts and ancient texts, exploring ancient landscapes and channeling other realms. Mia is also a member of three Druid orders. She spends most of her free time in forests, by wells, streams and rivers, where she gathers more inspiration and energy for her art.
