Reddit Drops Thousands of New NFTs on Polygon Blockchain

Reddit sent the NFT world into a frenzy with their latest drop, and it's safe to say that the demand was out of this world - or should we say, out of this future reality?

The third generation of Collectible Avatars features artwork from 100 different artists, all with one common theme - the artwork features Reddit's iconic mascot, Snoo, in various forms, such as a futuristic astronaut, a time traveler, and even a cyborg.

Alicia Freeman's avatars, based on environmental themes, remind us that we need to start taking care of our planet before it's too late, while Chris Torres' creation, with higher edition size, proved that sometimes less is more - especially when it comes to minting NFTs.

However, the minting process was not without its hiccups. Reddit's online store crashed faster than a game of Jenga played by a toddler, and some people criticized the release's lack of anti-bot measures.

Apparently, there was no CAPTCHA involved, and bots were able to snatch up 300,000 assets in just three seconds.

But despite the chaos, the NFTs generated an impressive $585,000 in sales volume since mint.

Reddit's foray into the world of NFTs has been a rollercoaster ride, with its first release mostly consisting of free assets and the second release smoothing out the buying process for non-crypto natives. Now, with their third-generation NFT drop, they've proven that they're not afraid to take risks and experiment with different themes and artists.

The success of the most recent release indicates there is still plenty of demand for digital assets, even in a down year (or two) for NFTs, and Reddit's involvement helps to foster the adoption of blockchain technology, all while featuring a character as cute as Snoo to soften crypto's edgy image.

Mega Man and Tekken Creators Join Forces for New Web3 Platform

Hey nerds! Get ready to experience the ultimate nerdy adventure with Minnapad. This platform is launching not one, but two decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) in partnership with legendary Japanese game creators Keiji Inafune and Seiichi Ishii.

Names ringing a bell? So they should - Inafune is the man behind Mega Man and Ishii pioneered modern fighting games through his work on titles such as Tekken and Virtua Fighter.

These DAOs will allow fans to collaborate with creators to create new IPs and own a piece of the projects they help bring to life. Or, if you prefer to control small robots called Brain Fighters using your own brain waves and battle others in a tag team style for victory, then Ishii's BRAIN FIGHTER is the game for you.

Minnapad's mission is to become the ultimate platform connecting fans of Japanese content to legendary Japanese creators or "Legends." As a DAO, members will have a say in the creation of the IPs, giving fans, publishers, and creators an equal voice in the direction the project takes.
