NFT Art Lands Pussy Riot Founder Nadya Tolokonnikova on Russia's Wanted List

Pussy Riot frontwoman, Nadya Tolokonnikova, has been added to the Russian Interior Ministry’s wanted list for an NFT artwork featuring the Virgin Mary.

Despite this, Tolokonnikova and Pussy Riot continue to use NFTs to fight political tyranny and advocate for women’s rights. Web3, Unite!

Bring The Power Back and Fight The Powers That Be!

Pussy Riot is a Russian feminist protest and performance art group formed in 2011 that challenges government policies and social norms using various artistic expressions.

In recent years, the group has turned to NFTs, releasing their first series in 2021 depicting Russian political prisoners.

Tolokonnikova, an experienced NFT artist and activist, co-founded UnicornDAO, which raised over $4 million for underrepresented groups and marginalized artists.

Pussy Riot is launching an NFT collection and virtual room called Utopia in the world’s largest web3 social metaverse, IMVU, on April 12th.

This collection is poised to become a powerful medium for social activism, demonstrating the potential of NFTs and the metaverse as tools for social and political change.

Art Blocks Launches Creator-Friendly NFT Marketplace

The debate about creator royalties is still ongoing, and now Art Blocks - the Ethereum-based NFT project that generates original digital artwork pieces on the blockchain via an algorithm - has launched a new secondary marketplace.

A true supporter of artists, this marketplace is creator-friendly, meaning that it won't take any platform fees for secondary trades that occur via its new secondary marketplace.

I hope you're taking notes OpenSea!

The new marketplace will also offer artists the ability to showcase their work after minting, giving them more control over their creations. Excited yet? You should be!

Not only that, but the secondary marketplace aims to put more power in the creators' hands and reward collectors in one way or another in the future.

Before you start saying 'brrrr' - no, there will not be a token. This isn't OpenSea OR Blur

What's more, artworks sold on the secondary marketplace will be authenticated. Finally, collectors will be paying the fairest prices with Art Blocks secondary marketplace aggregating all the listings on the different secondary platforms like Blur or OpenSea.

Touché, Art Blocks. It seems that the war of the marketplaces has a new contender
