And the award for the ugliest NFT of all time goes to ...
Good evening (because it's always evening somewhere)! It’s Monday, October 3rd and in today’s edition, we’re going to have a look at the ugliest NFT ever and an unfinished pair of new shoes. As any marketer will tell you: knowing your customers is the key to success. Any dad will say the same about his children while fixing dinner. Have feedback? Great, we’d be over the moon to hear from you! Send all of your thoughts to [email protected].

Azurbala Burns The Pizza
The only feedback I get when I mess up dinner is from my kids. After a good laugh, we usually order sushi. Luckily, I’m not cooking for the Twitterverse. I’m too sensitive.
That’s pretty much the reaction the team from Azurbala and Tally Labs got after they dropped their new collection named Azurians NFTs - a collection of 80 NFTs given out to members of their steadfast community.
If someone compared your painting to a Picasso, how would you feel? Pretty good, right? However, if they see another Kevin by Pixelmon - aka the ugliest NFT ever - in your artwork, you’re in trouble…
That’s what happened. In response to the new collection, Tally Labs' previous collection "Bored & Dangerous" tanked by 50%. Many people thought it was a joke or a publicity stunt and Twitter was flooded with memes.

"It's sushi time!" My son exclaimed. Call 911 and order out.
“We took a risk. It didn’t pay off” said Jenkins the Valet, the collection’s founder. And he handled the backlash with transparency. Tally Labs scrapped the collection and is now back in the kitchen.
There's no doubt that they’re less sensitive than I am.
Sneaker Aficionados In Tears Over Nike’s IRL RTFKT Cryptokick
In a video published by SneakerCon, RTFKT revealed the first look of their much-anticipated IRL Cryptokick Sneakers. RTFKT was acquired by Nike in December 2021 for $1b as part of Nike's drive to combine sneaker culture and fashion with NFTs.
And guess what? The "Back to the Future" vibe and an unfinished design feeling didn't appeal to cool kids.
Aren’t self-lacing shoes a thing of the past? I mean from the future but already seen in the past.
However, Nike's move is still smart: unlike Azurbala, they’re testing the waters. Fortunately, there's still plenty of time to gather feedback from the community, adjust the recipe, and be ready for the holiday season.
Think about it: children aren't eating yet. They just got a taste of their meal. The chef can always argue that dinner’s not quite ready… “Cooking for children 101”
(That kid ain't my kid).
