Gordon Goner (Wylie Aronow) Steps Down from Yuga Labs Core Team

Frens, you know that this newsletter is usually all jokes, all memes, all the time (with important NFT news at the heart, of course).

But today we begin the newsletter with some melancholy news - Gordon Goner (AKA Wylie Aronow), the co-founder of Yuga Labs and Bored Ape Yacht Club, has decided to step down from his role as a core team member for a much needed break to focus on his health.

Gordon was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, but reassured his followers that his symptoms are still mild and he can still live a mostly normal life. He will still be involved with Yuga Labs as a board member and strategic advisor.

Gordon reflects on his experience building Yuga Labs, acknowledging that he neglected his health while putting in long hours and never finding balance. He hopes to use this opportunity to heal and find a more balanced life.

With the addition of Daniel Alegre, former President and COO of Activision, Gordon feels even more confident in Yuga's future.

The entire crypto community has shown support for Gordon, wishing him a speedy recovery and well-deserved rest.

Gordon has been a major player in the NFT space since the launch of Bored Ape Yacht Club in April 2021, which quickly became a worldwide success and raised $450 million in a funding round, valuing Yuga Labs at $4 billion. Despite stepping down from the core team, Gordon is optimistic about the future of Yuga Labs and the NFT space.

British Man Requests Refund From Otherside NFT Mint

Now, onto a different story but one that also involves the Yuga Labs ecosystem.

Paul (@darkp0rt), the founder of TopDog Studios, is shaking things up in the digital art world by attempting to claim a refund for his Otherside NFT.

After discovering a clause in Porsche NFT's "Right To Withdrawal" document, Paul believes that NFTs may fall under the "Distance Selling" regulations law in the UK, EU, and elsewhere. This law allows customers to fully refund their digital assets within 14 days of purchase, regardless of whether the floor price doubles or goes to zero.

So you're telling me that I could get a refund for everything I lost during the bear market? Interesting.

Determined to get his money back, Paul is demanding a refund from Yuga Labs for his Otherdeed NFT, which has a current floor price of around 1.6 ETH ($2,281).

According to Paul, if Yuga Labs refuses, they risk facing a compensation payout, an unlimited fine, or even a prison sentence!

This could set a precedent for millions of NFT owners to follow suit and demand refunds for their digital assets. If Paul is right, then we could see thousands of NFT buyers demanding refunds.
