Chimpers was Hacked!

Once again, we are kicking off the Newsletter with details of yet another hack. This time, it's Chimpers.

Yesterday, the official Twitter account of Chimpers NFT was hacked. The hackers started off by sending tweets claiming to have surprise NFT Airdrops, but it quickly turned out to be a scam.

It seems that the hackers behind the Chimpers scam were not content with just stealing people's hard-earned crypto, they wanted to add insult to injury by pretending to give it away for free.


This was not enough for these cheeky 'Chimpers'. They went on to hold a Space and urged people to mint NFTs using their malicious links. Unfortunately, many traders fell victim to the scam.

However, users quickly took to their own Twitter accounts to warn others about the hack, but the hackers were able to post for more than 7 hours before the account was suspended.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder that even the most trustworthy accounts can be compromised overnight, so please, for everyone's sake, protect yourself from scams!

I'm starting to sound like a broken record here, but I'll say it again: To avoid NFT scams, experts advise keeping valuable assets in a cold wallet and/or hard wallet, not clicking on any unverified links, and triple-checking smart contracts before engaging with them.

Also, NEVER trust a stealth drop!

Solana Wallets Have Tripled since FTX!

The Solana network is proving to be the little engine that could, chugging along in the crypto winter and reaching new heights, despite the icy conditions.

The number of daily active wallets on the network has tripled, reaching a dizzying 120,000 users and counting! It's like Solana network is the only one in crypto winter who built an igloo and started a snowball fight.

We thought FTX would kill Solana, but it's alive and kicking!

Many are scratching their heads, wondering what could be behind this unexpected bull run. The answer may lie in the network's native meme token, $BONK, a dog-inspired token that has seen stratospheric success since its launch just 14 days ago.

Think of it like a sled dog, pulling the entire Solana network on its back to the top of the crypto mountain.

The meme token is used across many DApps on Solana, it's no surprise that it's led to early adoption in many ecosystems within Solana. With $BONK driving the growth, the value of the SOL token has also been on the rise.


The success of $BONK also puts to rest the idea that Solana's success is dependent on the power and influence of Sam Bankman-Fried and other venture capitalists.

As Brandon Tucker, growth lead at Marinade Finance, puts it "value and ownership are being transferred from these initial VCs to those who have stayed and continued to take advantage of the unique technological proposition Solana presents and also because of $BONK".

So, while the crypto winter may be a tough time for others, the Solana network is proving to be a rare bright spot. With the growth of $BONK, the network is showing a remarkable resurgence and could very well be the network that ring in the crypto bull run!
