Un-Cool Cats lays off employees without a given reason
After they announced a strategic investment from Animoca and a new CEO, Cool Cats NFT collection terminated staff members without any reason yesterday. Web3 is similar to the real world, after all. There are no goodbyes, and your access to professional email and slack channel are cut within minutes.
At least two former employees -Kittycakes (senior digital illustrator) and Dani (software developer)- took to Twitter to share their termination."Sad to read this stuff on Twitter - this does not coincide with cool cats ethos. Just a question." writes a member of Cool Cats Discord channel.
Crypto winter will soon enter its second year, and not a single company can make it without damage. OpenSea laid off 20% of its workforce in July, and Meta employees are bracing for impact as the social media giant will let people go for the first time. As revolutionary, decentralized, and transparent web3 might be, it seems there is one thing that will not change. Disrespect?

This is Calderon's (aka Snowfro) first new generative art project since the successful collection Chromie Squiggles.Each friendship bracelet is unique, with different colors and moving shapes. Minters will receive illustrated instructions to create a physical counterpart of their NFT bracelet. They are also encouraged to share their love for generative art by gifting their second claim! I'm an amazing friend! Just saying...
This is Snowfro's first take at representing digital artwork in the physical world in the form of an ephemeral physical object with meaning, but with no inherent value. Damn! I almost put my daughter's zillion friendship bracelets from elementary school on OpenSea.
