Kevin Rose Scammed for Millions of Dollars Worth of NFTs

We begin today's NL with bad news, as once again, hackers be hacking.

Moonbirds NFT founder Kevin Rose has become the latest victim of a phishing hack, losing a whopping $2 million worth of NFTs, including 25 Chromie Squiggles and other rare collectibles.

According to fellow PROOF VP Arran Schlosberg, Rose was "phished into signing a malicious signature that allowed the hacker to transfer a large number of high-value tokens." Rose signed an off-chain signature that created a listing for all of his OpenSea approved assets in one go.

The hacker tricked Rose with a classic case of social engineering, duping him into a false sense of security and signing malicious transactions that were then accepted by OpenSea's marketplace contract.

The hacker also stole 75 ETH from another victim around the same time, and moved the stolen funds to FixedFloat, where they were swapped for Bitcoin before being deposited into a bitcoin mixer.

This is not the first incident of NFT phishing scams this year, with Nike RTFKT COO Nikhil Gopalani losing around $137K in NFTs due to phishing attacks just last week. NFT Twitter has been exploding with support and rage against the prominent scams in the industry.

Meanwhile, PROOF collective digital assets are safe and unaffected by the hack, as PROOF NFTs require multiple approvals for access.

On a brighter note, The hacker has not yet been able to sell off the NFTs, so there is still hope that they will be recovered and returned to their rightful owner. The community is on the lookout and as always, stay vigilant and watch out for those phishy emails!

Doodles 2 Goes with the Flow Blockchain!

Colorful NFT lovers, get ready - Doodles has finally released the deets about Doodles 2!

The upcoming Doodles 2 project, which boasts pastel-colored cartoonish NFTs that can be endlessly customized for use in games and on social media, will launch on Flow, the Web3 platform best known for sports NFT projects like NBA Top Shot and NFL All Day.

This is a big win for Flow, as Doodles is the first high-profile NFT project to make the switch from Ethereum.

Doodles said the move to Flow will “mark the start of a future of strong cross-interoperability with Ethereum,” and that the launch of Doodles 2 NFTs will be tied to existing Doodles NFTs on Ethereum.

So why are they 'going with the Flow' (pun intended). Well, the team at Doodles said that they chose Flow over Ethereum due to the customization element and the expensive network gas fees on Ethereum mainnet.

The launch of Doodles 2 NFTs will be tied to the existing Dooplicator NFTs on Ethereum that were offered free to existing Doodles NFT holders last June.

Now, the rollout is only days away - Doodles holders, get ready to meet your new frens this January 31st!
