Logan Paul Releases Updated Plans for CryptoZoo
It's been a wild ride for the CryptoZoo drama, with controversial influencer Logan Paul at the center of the storm.
In his latest YouTube update, Paul announced that he will be refunding any unhappy investors who purchased NFTs from the collection, and has set aside a whopping 1000 ETH to do so.
Looks like Paul is taking some responsibility after all!
So if you purchased a CryptoZoo NFT, you can get a refund on the mint price. The collection minted in 2021 for 0.1 ETH. Today, that's worth about $156. Logan Paul and his manager Jeff Levin are burning the remaining NFTs so that they cannot gain from the refund.
But that's not all - Paul let fans know that the team will be rebuilding the CryptoZoo game to 'make things right' with the community.
It looks like Paul is doing his best to make amends, but whether or not the CryptoZoo community will forgive him remains to be seen.
Will Paul be able to rebuild the CryptoZoo empire or will it all come crashing down like a house of cards? Only time will tell.
NFT Artist Apologises For Releasing Fake XCOPY Collaboration
Another day, another drama. We are only 16 days into 2023 and already the bad-actors and scammers are crawling out of their dark, degen holes.
So what's the latest drama? NFT artists TEJI and XCOPY. TEJI found himself in a pickle for falsely advertising a collaboration with the famous digital artist XCOPY.
Faking a collab with one of the biggest names in NFT is a bold move, and perhaps a big mistake.
TEJI's most recent NFT drop titled "YES, THIS IS A COPY" was presented on OpenSea as a "collaborative piece" between him and the iconic artist XCOPY. In fact, the OpenSea description reads (and I quote) "THIS IS A COPY is a collaborative piece between XCOPY & TEJI."
Although that seems pretty black and white, TEJI took to Twitter to claim there had been some 'confusion'. The artist states that he did not 'use clear language' and it was 'never my intention to mislead collectors'.
I don't know about you, but telling collectors that your art is a collaborative piece, in the OpenSea description itself, while namedropping a hugely successful artist, doesn't seem like a 'mistake' or unclear use of language to me.
TEJI apologized for the 'mix-up', and promised to issue refunds to those who got duped into purchasing the non-existent collaboration NFT.
Fans were not amused, with one calling the apology "reactionary" and another accusing TEJI of being a repeat offender with previous fake collaborations.
To make matters worse, rumors of a failed partnership with NIKE also surfaced, leaving minters without their promised limited-edition merchandise.
At the very least, TEJI is now getting noticed on Twitter as people react to this strange situation. Perhaps that was his aim all along?
