Gary Vee joins the Galacticos!

Industry giants joining forces always creates something spectacular. It almost feels like a galactico sports team is being created. Remember that Real Madrid team from the early 2000s? Yes, of course you do.

Well there's a new dream team in Web3: Gary Vee, Macy’s and Toys”R” Us have partnered to launch exclusive physical collectibles. Gary Vee is hoping to usher in even more success for his Veefriends collection by bringing them to life as plush and/or vinyl character sets. Aaaaaaaaaaw.

Macy’s and Toys”R”Us bring their galactic retail presence and complete the roster as exclusive distributors.

This partnership doesn’t come as a surprise since Veefriends has always been at the forefront of providing utility to its holders. Will it become an enormous success, fall short and turn into a disastrous failure, or land somewhere in the middle?

The Real Madrid Galácticos era was considered a failure (sort of), as few trophies were won. However, jerseys were sold, money was made and the show was enjoyable. Frenchman Zinedine Zidane even scored the greatest goal in the history of the Champions League.

A big chain store releasing physical toys of NFT characters remains an unprecedented event and could very pave the way for future family-friendly collections.

They'll just have to take it one game at a time!

Express your talent and win an NFT by XCOPY

Soccer ain’t your thing? We got you covered again! Art! Aren’t we the greatest?

NFT artist XCOPY just announced a Build-a-Grifter competition for a free NFT. Simply put on your remixer hat and play with the tool provided by the creator in partnership with @AsyncArt. Pick your favorite type (among 4) and layers (5 choices, 60 attributes total) and design a Grifter. That’s a total of 6,500,309,437 combinations. Nah… just kidding. I can’t figure that out.

Post your artwork on Twitter with the hashtag #griftszn and A Max Pain NFT will be given to each of the top 3 entries (0.6ETH floor price!).

With a floor price of 14ETH, the Grifter NFT collection by XCOPY is very popular. It has been proven that remixing artwork is a very effective way to engage communities. This tactic is at the core of Tyler Hobbs and Dandelion Wist’s QQL collaborative generative art experiment for instance.

Wanna know what I called the Grifter I designed?

Today's Edition Is Brought To You By Rawlings

Alright, back to sports!

Rawlings, the iconic baseball clothing and equipment manufacturer is entering the world of Web3 with the Rawlings PRIMUS NFT collection. A dynamic move for a 135-year-old company!

Now Zizou can hang up his cleats and get himself a glove! This wouldn't be the first time an athlete from another sport took on baseball...

Rawlings' PRIMUS NFT collection was launched on September 14th and has an extremely limited supply of 461 NFTs distributed in 3 tiers: Pro (300 NFTs), Gold (150 NFTs), and Platinum (10 NFTs) and every single glove in the collection was designed specifically for this drop.

Want to get a physical glove from the most popular brand among MLB players? Get a Rawlings PRIMUS NFT on Opensea and burn it. Don’t get confused and burn a real glove though. This won't do anything and it could be dangerous. Each NFT can be burnt for a unique physical glove, which means the collection with become scarcer over time.

And how about grabbing yourself a 1/1? One of the gloves was designed by Francisco Lindor, who wore it in a game between the Mets and the Yankees on July 27th. It's available on Opensea right now and by purchasing it, you'll get to own a piece of sporting history. Yes, history!
