NFTs Break Legal Ground, Used to Serve Anonymous Hackers

NFT Law is changing every day, and in a groundbreaking legal decision, a judge has ruled that NFTs can be used for serving legal notice.

This means that instead of sending a boring old email or letter, scammers can now be served with an NFT. Apparently, the public address associated with a crypto transaction can be used as identifying information in legal proceedings, so victims of theft can send their lawsuit notice as an NFT directly to the scammer's crypto account.

So what prompted this? In a recent case, a man lost almost $1 million in USDT after falling for a fake liquidity mining pool website. He sued the scammers by creating an NFT of the Notice of Suit and sending it to their Ethereum address.

The judge approved of this method, and the case will proceed.

Revenge is sweet.

Let's not celebrate just yet. It remains unclear whether the victim will recover his money. Still, his attorney is optimistic, stating that "knowing where the crypto is sitting makes the entire collection strategy viable."

It's a brave new world where sophisticated criminals rob DeFi protocols instead of banks, and the US legal system is catching up by embracing NFTs. Who knows, maybe soon we'll all be serving legal notice with cute digital art instead of boring documents.

Shooting Star 🌠

The SUBLIMINAL ART project connects to the world we live in today, a world that is progressive, modern, and always evolving. The beauty of the art showcases a modern, relevant message that is constructed by a London woman in her late twenties, that has spent a majority of her time traveling around the world.

She chose to portray this message through an NFT collection, because she believes that technology can allow for these pieces to be so much more than just an object in a personal collection.

Owners can use them for their own special interests; whether that be for branding, campaigns, personal use, capitalization, or as inspiration. This is a limited-edition collection; with only 1,000 pieces available across four tiers, each piece is a unique 1/1 edition that increases in rarity as you move up in tiers.
