Influencers make $20K in a minute with Art Gobblers NFTs

Could you sell a Lady Gaga concert ticket given to you for free as a music critic at face value of $650 in the real world?In the latest episode of our favorite "Wild Web3" saga, the Art Gobblers collection -a brainchild of Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and web3 firm Paradigm- whitelisted heavy influencers, allowing them to mint the NFTs free of charge. A present? How nice!

Well, the nicest thing about those presents is that the influencers could sell them right away on the secondary market for a decent amount of money. As such, the floor price went from 0ETH to 12ETH ($20K) just minutes after the free mint. The jury is out on whether this is another influencers' conspiracy or a brilliant marketing strategy.

In real life, you can send free concert tickets to influencers, even to a Lady Gaga concert. To avoid the creation of a black market and in fairness to people who purchase tickets at regular prices, regulations usually require promoters to have a "not for resale" designation. But Wild Web3 still needs rules. Til then, profits, corruption, scams, suspicion, luck, but also work or merit will make winners and losers.

Influencers were not the only NFT enthusiasts on the allowlist. A September 25 tweet from Art Gobblers indicates: "Other humans joined us by participating in contests hosted by aligned communities, as well as public drawing contests." Life is unfair. Maybe. Let's also not forget that for anyone selling a $650 Lady Gaga ticket, someone is willing to buy it, indicating the show might be a great one.

Decentraland wants to become the biggest music venue in the metaverse

The platform recently announced its second Metaverse Music Festival, going with MVMF acronym. 50,000 unique attendees went to the Festival last year, and I guess Decentraland found it encouraging.

The 100+ acts line-up includes big-name artists and DJs such as Gramatik, Yokoo, Arapu, PlastikFunk, Ozzy Osbourne, Vladimir Cauchemar, SNH48, Spottie WiFi, Atarashii Gakko!, Amadis & The Ambassador, Maija Kauhanen, Handshaking, Akira the Don, Losers, 2AM, Erika Krall, Lian Gold, PIP, and many more. Lady Gaga is not programmed.

Dozens of partners have joined the Kraken-sponsored 21st-century Woodstock event. One of the 15 unique stages is the OxArena, which will be hosted by Unpaired, the pioneer brand behind projects like "Party Degenerates."

Dencentraland specifies that MVMF is free for all to attend, no VR, ticket or headset required. Just in case you received a "free ticket"... You can't sell it for 12ETH.
