Metamask Now Tracks Your IP Address…Has Dentralization Gone AWOL?

Just as everyone starts getting to grips with the latest FTX drama, Metamask clearly thought they were not getting enough attention. Although it seems ridiculous to believe, Metamask is now going to track your IP address. Yes, the one connected to your home address.

So much for decentralization then.

To be fair, some would argue Metamask hasn’t been decentralized for some time. Back in March, the popular software wallet blocked users in both Iran and Venezuela.

So how decentralized is our whole ecosystem? And that aside, what about all of our favorite anons?

What happens when Metamask knows I live in the Bahamas…?I think it’s safe to say this doesn’t impact the everyday user but is it really something we want and accept?

The Netherlands -The World’s Most “Metaverse Ready” Country

Let's face it, The Netherlands has been kicking everyone's a**** for a while. Home to the oldest national anthem in the world, the tallest men in the world, and named one of the happiest countries in the world, they now have a new feather to add to their cap - the most metaverse-ready nation.

A new study has found the Netherlands is the most metaverse-ready nation. With one of the world’s highest median fixed broadband speeds (Mbps), the country has the potential to meet the speed requirements of the metaverse.Oh right, that's another thing the Netherlands is best at - network speeds. The Netherlands offers one of the world’s highest fixed broadband speeds of 106.51Mbps.I still remember the days of dial-up, which was 0.0024 Mbps, and took 3 days to download one song from Limewire and destroy the family computer.

Not only is the Netherlands equipped for the metaverse, but its citizens are ready for it! It is one of the top countries with the highest number of people searching about the metaverse. Reportedly, the country accounts for over 24,000 annual Google searches per million people. Perhaps it's time I moved there to become happier, taller, and more metaverse-ready. Who's joining me?
