๐Full Moons - Mind Reading AI & The End Of The Royalties War
Metaโs AI Can Now Read Your Thoughts & Much More
Meta has introduced an innovative AI system capable of swiftly decoding visual brain representations in near real-time, using magnetoencephalography (MEG) to capture brain activity. The system comprises three components โ
an Image Encoder,
Brain Encoder, and
Image Decoder
The system breaks down, aligns, and reconstructs images based on brain activity.
While showcasing advancements in mind-reading AI, including music recreation from brain scans, the technology's transformative potential is vast, extending to healthcare and rehabilitation.
Yet, Meta researchers caution about ethical concerns and emphasize the need to preserve mental privacy as AI progresses in understanding human intelligence, urging a balanced perspective amid its profound implications.

NFT Royalties Debate: Industry Leaders Go All In!
Web3 industry leaders are fed up with the ongoing struggle over integrating NFT creator royalties, hindering digital age growth; traditionally, royalties fairly compensated creators for intellectual property, but conventional markets challenged artists.
NFTs brought a new avenue, allowing creators to earn from secondary sales.
The creator royalty debate has spanned two years, impacting platforms like OpenSea and Blur. In 2022, royalties fell from $269 million to $2.4 million.
OMA3, a coalition of blockchain, NFT, and metaverse firms, aims to end the "royalty wars" by forming a task force, proposing standards to uphold creator royalties universally.
Marketplaces face challenges as creators leave, affecting returns and trading volume.
Binance Feed Is Changing, With A Tipping System
Binance has rebranded its crypto news platform, Binance Feed, as Binance Square, positioning it as more than just a platform but a community-first ethos in the Web3 world.
With over 10 million monthly users, the platform aims to facilitate knowledge-sharing and dialogue within the crypto space.
Binance Square, supported by 170 media partners and 11,500 KOLs, emphasizes community-driven content and trending topics.
CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) envisions blockchain technology improving social platforms, tackling issues like spam and fraud.
The platform introduces financial tools like a unique tipping system for creators. Despite ongoing SEC litigation, Binance is actively innovating in the social and crypto space.
๐ญThe Scope
Crypto leaders are finally trying to put a permanent end to the royalty debate. Will we now see an industry turnaround and bring back what made the ecosystem a haven for new, up and coming artists? The fate of the Royalty wars will greatly define the next few years of crypto and NFTs!
๐Half Moons
- France has passed the Sorare law, part of the Digital Space Regulation Law, introducing the "Jonum Regime" to regulate crypto games; its fate with the Constitutional Council is uncertain amid concerns it may favor crypto games over casinos, potentially reshaping the industry. If approved, the law would empower the French National Gambling authority to regulate the sector, imposing age verification and restrictions on influencers to safeguard minors, reflecting an effort to balance innovation and consumer protection in the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency and NFT-integrated gaming.
- Beeple Studios is hosting the "Crypto Winter Wonderland" event on December 16th in Charleston, SC, celebrating the resilience of the crypto and NFT communities with artist showcases, real-time visuals, prizes, and a chance to connect with fellow enthusiasts, promising a night of digital art splendor, camaraderie, and playful nods to the unpredictable world of cryptocurrencies.
- Reddit is discontinuing its crypto-powered "Community Points" reward tokens, initially launched three years ago to incentivize high-quality contributions, citing high resource requirements and regulatory challenges, with holders experiencing significant token value drops; however, the platform reassures users that its Collectible Avatars initiative will persist.

On Todays WTF News:
Former Fugees member Pras Michel, convicted for his role in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme, is seeking a new trial. His lawyer allegedly used an experimental AI from EyeLevel AI to generate closing arguments.
The AI supposedly made "frivolous arguments" and "failed to highlight key weaknesses" in the prosecution's case. Pras was found guilty on 10 counts including falsifying records and being an unregistered foreign agent.
EyeLevel denies the AI made errors, saying it was trained only on court transcripts, not the internet, to avoid hallucinations. The case highlights concerns about AI in legal proceedings, though providers aim to reduce inaccuracies.
