Digital Collectibles Market Movements: It’s been a good week for Murakami Flowers! The team released a special surprise gift for MK Flowers holders, giving away physical ‘collectible trading cards’. On the otherside, 10KTF has seen better days - but could this be Gucci Material holders selling off their goods?

🌑Full Moons - CryptoPunk Legacies, Creator Royalties & Color Combinations!

Beeple’s First Ever PFP

Last week, Beeple, the artist behind the priciest NFT ever sold, revealed his first-ever PFP NFT — CryptoPunk #4593!! With a chill vibe last Tuesday, Beeple snagged the punk for a cool 113.7 ETH, around $208,000.

Talk about a major moment!

  • This rare punk flaunts a mohawk, clown green eyes, and a super-exclusive red clown nose, found in only 2% of Punks.

Beeple is no stranger to the digital art scene, having opened a studio in Charleston, South Carolina, fostering connections between creators and collectors. His renowned Human One sculpture, previously sold for a jaw-dropping $29 million, is currently on exhibit at the Crystal Bridges Museum in Arkansas. The man is an art wizard!

Interestingly, Beeple's pal spilled the beans on their NFT chat. The art genius sees this purchase as an epic tale, from giveaway to asset class. Ready to witness more magic in the NFT world? Beeple's got exciting plans ahead!

Zora Gives Its Creators More Ways To Make Money

Top NFT marketplace Zora backs artists by updating its revenue model to ensure a fair share. Starting Thursday, Zora started to split minting fees with creators, promoting a vibrant community. Free mints earn artists a minimum of 42%, and creators keep all revenue from paid mints. Zora also rewards developers contributing to NFT drops, expanding remuneration.

  • The platform evolves from charging 5% fees for primary sales to supporting creators without listing or creation fees.

  • Well-known artists like Bobby Kim and Latashá released free mints to celebrate.

Will this significant change dictate the new direction for NFT marketplaces? We’re yet to see, but the only question that remains if it does is - could we expect a full Bull run soon after?

Dee Goens, Zora's co-founder, highlights their commitment to creators' welfare and empowering creativity. Zora aims to thrive as an inclusive and sustainable NFT market amidst the royalty debate.

923 Empty Rooms

Art Blocks and Bright Moments team up for a second collaboration, unveiling "923 Empty Rooms" by Casey Reas. This artwork builds on Reas' previous piece, "An Empty Room," exploring simulation, abstraction, and kinetic art.

The heart of 923 Empty Rooms is choosing a "colorform" for each Bright Moments location: Los Angeles, New York, Berlin, London, Mexico City, and Tokyo. It’s easy to say this is a far-out generative art project.

An algorithm mixes these six colorforms to create 923 distinct results, forming a unified on-chain collection. Casey Reas opted to launch 923 Empty Rooms on the Art Blocks platform.

  • The minting happens over six days via dutch auction.

  • Collectors can check out the Bright Moments galleries to see the long-form outputs of the algorithm.

    • If you hold a "Full Set" with a colorform from each city, you'll be eligible for a special mint from the artist to commemorate the collection.

🔭The Scope

The NFT market may be struggling, but that isn’t slowing down creators. Generative art continues to be a big hitter (only last week we discussed how 99-year-old Vera Molnar sold out her generative collection in one hour!) while platforms like Zora push for artists to receive fair pay. What else needs to change before we reach the next bull run?

🌓Half Moons

Etihad Airways teams up with Arcube and Crossmint for a unique NFT collection, offering rewards like VIP status and miles. A groundbreaking 'Staking-for-Miles' program lets NFT holders earn while embracing a web3 era. New NFT use-case unlocked on a global level!

NFTs are set to take the wheel at the U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, TX. Williams Racing and Kraken are bringing digital collectibles onto the Formula One track, providing NFT holders a unique chance to witness their prized assets in the fast lane. This thrilling partnership marks a significant step towards integrating NFTs into mainstream entertainment and fan engagement

The trailblazing Ordinals project reached a turning point, establishing the Open Ordinals Institute as a nonprofit supporter. This exciting move aligns with its milestone of 21 million inscriptions, elevating digital scarcity in the crypto realm. 21 million coins, 21 million inscriptions!

🔭The Scope

You can run but you can’t hide from the NFT revolution. NFTs are everywhere, from the skies (thanks Etihad) to the ground (H/T to you, Kraken and Williams Racing). With new use cases and increased use of NFT IP, the NFT landscape is steadily gaining visibility amongst ‘normies’.

💫Shooting Star

This week’s shooting star is Sean Chambers

Sean Chambers, known as Chambo, is a versatile multi-media artist with a focus on abstract, street art, and stencil work.

Drawing inspiration from the vibrant culture of the 1980s, Chambo fearlessly embraces bold colors and thrives on the exhilarating moments that arise from pushing the boundaries of artistic experimentation.

This piece is titled ‘Welcome to my mind!’. The description reads: Welcome to my mind! Please sit back and enjoy the ride of emotions that will go up , down, and all around in every direction. You will get lot in my past pains and look at my future pains. You will feel my love in every line of color and you will also see my own demons that I fight daily. Thank you again for taking this ride with me inside my mind.
