SBF Sued For $1 Billion 💵

The collapsed crypto exchange FTX is suing its former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried for over $1 billion. The lawsuit filed July 20 alleges "one of the greatest financial frauds in history".

It names Bankman-Fried, Alameda CEO Caroline Ellison, FTX co-founder Gary Wang, and engineering director Nishad Singh as defendants. Accusing them of misusing customer funds for luxury condos, political donations, speculative investments, and "pet projects".

Additionally, the suit claims they abused authority at FTX to issue themselves $725 million in equity and siphon another $546 million to buy Robinhood stock.

Ellison allegedly paid herself $28.8 million in bonuses, investing $10 million in an AI firm. The lawsuit also reveals Bankman-Fried transferred $10 million to his father's FTX account in January 2022, claiming it as a “gift”.

The FTX collapse rocked crypto and NFTs last year. Now the law is going after its former leaders for the massive fraud and chaos caused.
