“Trial Of Jimmy The Monkey” will end with a special, interactive BAYC NFT mint experience!

Another Yuga Labs headline! This time, Yuga reveals that the highly anticipated Yuga “Trial Of Jimmy The Monkey” narrative is set to end with a special, interactive Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT mint experience. They also announced that a short film will kick start the new BAYC narrative.

But what's this monkey and why is he on trial? Well, The Trial of Jimmy the Monkey is a new BAYC narrative aimed at expanding the Bored Ape lore. All we know so far is that the Yuga Labs community should play close attention to the finer details.

BAYC co-founder Garga said that the project is “some really weird shit.”

Nothing out of the ordinary, then.

In its official “Trial Of Jimmy The Monkey” announcement thread, BAYC delivers details on the special mint tiers. BAYC or MAYC holders who also hold a BAKC are in their own separate tiers. Meanwhile, standalone holders of either BAYC or MAYC receive different tier rewards.

There are four different tiers in total. Tier One is a Mutant Ape, Tier 2 is a Mutant Ape plus a BAKC, Tier 3 is a Bored Ape. Tier 4 is a Bored Ape and a BAKC Dog and is the highest-ranking tier in the bunch.

Grab your apes, grab your pups, and get ready for an adventure.

National Geographic To Launch Its Debut NFT With Snowcrash

Moving on from monkey trials to prestigious publications, National Geographic is dropping its genesis NFT collection in partnership with web3 studio and NFT platform, Snowcrash.

The collection features 16 photographs capturing the break of dawn from the world over. The list includes Justin Aversano, Jimmy Chin, Delphine Diallo, Yagazie Emezi, Mia Forrest, and Kris Graves.

Called “GM: Daybreak Around the World”, National Geographic’s debut NFT collection will drop on January 17, 2023. It brings together 16 National Geographic photographers and digital artists as they capture daybreak across the globe, and in celebration of National Geographic’s 135th anniversary, the collection will include 1888 NFTs marking the year of its founding.

In true degen fashion, the 'daybreak' images are not limited to IRL locations, but also include one crack of dawn in the metaverse, taken by Aaron Huey.

With its debut NFT collection, National Geographic is bringing its more than a century-old legacy to the Web3 world. This is its latest effort in fostering its creative community, all the while exploring new ways of storytelling.

So, starting January 17, the NFTs will be available on Snowcrash, a recently-launched platform building web3 software and services. You don't even need a crypto wallet! You can buy the NFTs using a debit or credit card.
