UK Politicians Don Avatars For Blockchain Meet!

UK politicians hopped into their metaverse personas to talk shop with leaders from 51 nations about the future of blockchain and Web3. Natalie Elphicke, MP and head honcho of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Blockchain Technologies, went digital to drop some wisdom.

• She called Web3 a "paradigm shift" that could turn the UK into a "smart country," but warned they're a bit slow on the blockchain job race.

• Top priority? Making the UK a Web3 hotspot and getting cozy with Web3 wizards.

Plus, she's all about more countries joining the blockchain roadmap club. Oh, and she tackled DeFi, tokenizing the real world, and the Online Safety Bill – a real metaverse showdown

Welcome To Web3, Walmart!

Walmart, the retail giant, is jumping into the metaverse craze, teaming up with Roblox to create game-like experiences in Walmart Land and Walmart's Universe of Play, raising eyebrows for potentially targeting kids.

• These Roblox adventures include fashion shows and Jurassic Park-themed egg hunts.

• Players can score in-game tokens, prizes, and "verch" (virtual merchandise). On Sundays I wear “cherch” (church merch).

While Walmart hasn't officially spilled the metaverse beans, their Chief Marketing Officer hinted they chose Roblox because people are glued to it.

Critics, though, argue that since a quarter of Roblox users are kids under 13, this could be shady marketing.
