Animoca onboards Cool Cats on its Noah’s ark

Dogs, lamas, horses, axies (yes they’re animals), dragons, birds, dinosaurs, bears, wombats, foxes, octopuses, and now ladies and gentlemen… I give you… Cats!

With their new investment in Cool Cats Group LLC, it looks like Animoca brands are now ready to sail their boat and get themselves prepared for the apocalypse.

In other non-animal interests, the company invested in Ledger, The Sandbox, Revv Racing, Dapper, and Splinterlands. The firm's total portfolio includes more than 400 companies in the web3 ecosystem.

Despite having gone through some turmoil with their floor prices in the past months, Cool Cats remain a strong community and this partnership will help them continue to grow as a successful NFT brand and media company.

“Yat is one of web3’s foremost thought leaders and he has built one of the most important companies in the industry. Working more closely with Animoca Brands will bring tremendous value to Cool Cats and its community”, says CC's Ken Cron about Animoca vessel’s captain Yat Siu.

We'll have to wait and see what they bring back from their trip. A Cool Cats game? Real-world experiences? A metaverse? Even better: a Cool Cats-Dogami crossover!

OpenSea got an MBA in E-commerce

Nobody likes doing repetitive tasks. Shopping for groceries. Adding items on a to-do list, or going to work. In their observations of human behavior, OpenSea concluded that people dislike listing their NFTs one by one on their platform. Whether they’re sellers or buyers. Let’s call this the rotary phone syndrome.

The rotary phone syndrome has another equivalent: you go to the supermarket and buy a pound of apples. You pay the cashier for your fruits and (let's pretend here) a plastic bag and put everything in your trunk. Then you go back in, get a pound of oranges, get another plastic bag and pay. Waste of time. The same bag could have been used for apples and oranges. That was you being silly though, right?

Well, interestingly enough, other NFT marketplaces (Looks Rare and Magic Eden) have only recently introduced bulk listings and offers. And guess what? People like it! They like buying apples and oranges at the same time! It also appears to be a great business opportunity for the merchant: the average amount spent increases! I know, this sounds like commerce 101. Hopefully for OpenSea sales will pick up again.

I still can measure progress. Push-button touch-tone telephones were indeed commercialized 90 years after the invention of the telephone! It took the NFT marketplace industry 20 times less to get a multi-item shopping cart.
