Why is the Art Gobblers NFT collection so controversial?
Your favorite Wild Web3 saga continues today with more about the Art Gobblers NFT collection. And let's say there might be a "before" and an "after" Art Gobblers. NFT Twitter has become a war field with, on one side, warriors listing all of the reasons why the project is suspicious.
They're holding a list of speculations, such as insider trading, market manipulation, wash trading, sexually explicit art, impersonation, flawed tokenomics, and even pedophilia. Indeed, some of Justin Roilandβs (Art Gobblers' creator) previous shows had a recurring theme based around pedophilia and even had a pedophilic character.
The image is cropped on purpose here. On the other side of the war field stands the pro group, defending their territory of art, freedom of speech, brilliant marketing, and fascinating exponential token generation structure.
We can hear bullets flying and explosions on Twitter spaces almost 24/7, so what's really at stake here? Comedy, art, money, ethics, and morals. Art Gobblers has activated every single switch to get a ton of free publicity. Whether they've gone too far remains to be seen.
Stay tuned.
Fly to the Qatar World Cup with FIFA NFTs
If your schedule is clear between December 7 and December 11, why don't you try your luck and win a VIP trip to Doha, airfare, luxury accommodation, and tickets to two FIFA World Cup quarter-final matches?
The organization announced today its FIFA+ "Own It, Win It, Live It" giveaway. You must purchase packs of NFTs starting at $4.99 to pack up to Qatar. Yep. It's a pack-to-pack special. The FIFA+ Collect marketplace launched last month to modernize sticker albums. Actually, they sold Panini a license for those. And Panini, too, have launched an NFT marketplace. 2022 Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema's card is worth $175...
So FIFA is selling NFT video highlights. They actually call them digital collectibles. Two hundred thousand highlights have already been claimed using the Algorand blockchain. You get one entry per pack, there's one winner per week for a total of 4 winners. About the odds of winning, I'll let you figure that out. Sportswise, the odds are at 1 out of 32. However, as English player Gary Lineker once said: "Football is a simple game: 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes, and in the end, the Germans always win."
You can find ART in Qatar
I won't debate whether soccer is an art or not some people are into art, others are into art. And lots are into both.
