Did 'A Kid Called Beast' Take Wallets OFF the Allowlist?
It's the battle of the influencers vs founders once again. Crypto-investor @Resaang called out Rafsby, co-founder of 'A Kid Called Beast' for his apparent dodgy dealings with the allowlist.
Resaang alleges that the AKCB co-founder has been removing people from the allowlist! (For those of you who are new here - hi, welcome - an an allowlist is a list of wallets added to the contract to mint an NFT in the presale). People grind hard to get on allowlists, so being removed from a list is a very un-cool move.
This news came to light because Resaang and Rafsby were due to collaborate, but Rafsby wanted to 'cherry pick' from Resaang's communities. Resaang thought this was extremely unfair, and so called off the collab.
But how do we know that wallets have been removed from the allowlist? Well - Resaang has come through with the receipts! In a Twitter thread, he provided an excel spreadsheets detailing around 24,000 allowlisted wallets. Yet somehow, the allowlist now sits at 9000.
We love a spicy receipt moment.
The saga continues. Another Twitter user - Hypno.ETH - joined in, calling the AKCB founder out for spreading false information! Rafsby stated that there was a filter for people using bots and hence only 9813 wallets were loaded on to the allowlist. But Hypno did some digging, and saw that the wallets are still loaded on to the AKCB smart contract.
So, this means that Rafsby has allegedly rugged ~20k followers for allowlist spots. Big oof.
The community is divided - some see this as a breach of trust and see signs of a rug, others are unhappy with Resaang (and influencers in general).
AKCB - Blue-chip in the making, or rug? I guess we will have to wait and see!
